Licensed Private Investigator
Careers at Terrance Private Investigator & Associates
The Role
If you take this work seriously—the surveillance, the documentation, the discipline of doing it lawfully every single time—we’d like to hear from you. As a Licensed Private Investigator on our team, you’ll be trusted with real cases that matter to real people, backed by leadership that supports you and a culture built on ethics over shortcuts.

What You’ll Do
You’ll serve as a primary investigator on assigned cases and a direct point of contact for internal leadership and case coordinators. That means professional surveillance, field investigations, and lawful evidence collection—then turning it into clear, accurate, court-ready documentation.
Cases span infidelity, child custody, asset recovery, background checks, and corporate matters. No two look the same, and you’ll help shape the strategy for each one alongside our leadership and fellow investigators.

- Conduct professional surveillance, field investigations, and evidence collection in compliance with state and federal laws
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely field notes, reports, and evidence documentation
- Support investigations involving infidelity, child custody, asset recovery, background checks, and corporate matters
- Collaborate with leadership and other investigators to develop investigative strategies tailored to each case
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all client and case-related matters
- Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and legal guidelines while in the field
What We’re Looking For
- Active Private Investigator license in the state of operation
- 2+ years of investigative experience (field surveillance experience strongly preferred)
- Strong observational, documentation, and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple assignments
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as cases require
- A client-first, ethics-driven mindset

What We Offer
Compensation is competitive and based on experience, case type, and role, with W-2 or 1099 options available depending on the position and location. Pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and operational needs.
- Competitive pay with performance-based opportunities
